Cap City Buzz

Advertising Policy

How Cap City Buzz labels and reviews sponsored content, paid placements, newsletter ads, Local Spotlight, and advertiser-provided copy.

Effective May 28, 2026

Clear labels

Paid placements must be clear where they appear. Cap City Buzz uses labels such as Sponsored, Featured Placement, Paid Local Spotlight, or Advertisement.

Cap City Buzz avoids vague labels that hide the paid relationship.

Advertiser responsibility

Sponsored placements are clearly labeled. Cap City Buzz may edit advertiser-provided copy for length, clarity, formatting, and audience fit, but advertisers are responsible for the accuracy of their own claims, offers, prices, deadlines, and promotional details.

Advertisers should provide current, accurate details and source links for offers, prices, dates, deadlines, eligibility, age restrictions, claims, and promotional terms.

Local Spotlight

Local Spotlight is a paid featured placement that helps local businesses share their story with Cap City Buzz readers.

Local Spotlight should not be presented as an independent review, ranking, award, or unbiased editorial endorsement unless a separate editorial relationship is clearly explained.

Approval and fit

All advertising and paid placements are subject to review, timing, availability, package details, and fit with Cap City Buzz readers.

Cap City Buzz may decline, request edits to, pause, or remove placements that are misleading, unlawful, outdated, unclear, inappropriate for readers, or inconsistent with the publication.

Newsletter ads

Sponsored or advertiser content may appear in the Cap City Buzz newsletter and should be labeled clearly in the issue.

Newsletter subject lines and preview text should not make deceptive promises about advertiser offers or event availability.
